Ireneernst Limited: Ireland's Cycling Greenways Guide

We're passionate about connecting cyclists with Ireland's most beautiful greenways and scenic routes. From the Great Western Greenway to hidden Burren trails, we've got everything you need to explore.

Our Mission

Making Cycling Accessible to Everyone

Ireneernst Limited started because we couldn't find reliable information about Ireland's greenways in one place. Whether you're a complete beginner looking for a flat, easy ride or someone seeking challenging terrain, we've built a resource that actually works.

We're not just listing routes. We're providing the details that matter — what surfaces you'll ride on, where to park, how long it really takes, and what to expect when you get there. Our guides cover the Great Western Greenway's peaceful 42-kilometre loop, the Waterford Greenway's stunning coastal views, the Royal Canal's urban convenience, and the Burren's dramatic limestone scenery.

Every piece of information comes from real cycling experience. We've ridden these routes. We know the terrain, the weather challenges, and the moments where you'll think "this is worth it." That's what we want to share with you.

Our Story

Building Ireland's Cycling Resource

We started ireneernst Limited in 2019 after one too many planning sessions ended with frustrated searches for basic greenway information. You'd find bits and pieces scattered across different websites, but nothing comprehensive.

So we did what seemed logical — we rode every major greenway ourselves. We documented surface types, tested routes at different times of year, and collected the kind of details you actually need when you're planning a ride with family or friends.

The Great Western Greenway became our benchmark. Sixty-eight kilometres across County Mayo. We mapped every rest stop, noted where the surface changes from tarmac to gravel, identified the best views, and logged seasonal challenges. Then came the Waterford Greenway, Royal Canal path, and the Burren's incredible but technical routes.

Why These Routes Matter

These aren't just tourist attractions. They're accessible, well-maintained cycling paths that connect communities and showcase Ireland's landscape in a way cars simply can't.

How We Work

Our Approach to Cycling Information

Ireneernst Limited doesn't do generic guides. Here's how we create resources that actually help you plan the perfect ride.

1

Ground Truth Research

We ride every route in different seasons. Spring mud, summer crowds, autumn winds, winter conditions — we experience them all so you know what to expect.

2

Specific Details Matter

Not "nice views" but "best viewpoint at kilometre 34." Not "some hills" but "steady climb for 2km at 4% gradient." Details you can actually use.

3

Practical Navigation

We've mapped parking spots, bike rental options, cafes worth stopping at, and facilities along each greenway. Everything you need for a smooth ride.

4

Honest Assessments

We tell you if a route isn't suitable for young kids, if it gets crowded on weekends, or if you'll need mountain bike skills. No sugarcoating.
